Ocean Bridge Classic program is a 6-month (May - October 2022) part-time program for Canadians and permanent residents aged 18-30. Ocean Bridge connects 140 youth and young professionals from coast to coast to coast empowering them to take action for ocean conservation. Each year, our national cohort of ocean ambassadors are engaged in co-creating and delivering ocean and waterway service projects on a local or national scale.
Book-ended by two immersive regional Learning Journeys, ambassadors have the opportunity to learn and explore in one of the following awe-inspiring regions of Canada: Pacific Coast, Great Lakes, St. Lawrence River, and Atlantic Coast.

Placements may be virtual or on-site in rural or urban coastal, marine, and watershed environments across Canada. Direct Action provides 30 Canadians and permanent residents aged 18-30 the opportunity to be immersed in impactful marine and aquatic conservation projects while mentored and coached by top research professionals. Youth and young professionals are connected with experts in the field, empowering them with experiences in direct marine and aquatic initiatives, adventurous fieldwork opportunities, professional research projects, and educational/outreach programs.
Direct Action funds participant costs associated with travel, living expenses, training, and materials/gear for the duration of their 3-month placement.
